the runda kumpulan kecil (rkk), allegedly 1 of armed wings of brn-c, has been 1 of brutal , ruthless groups of south thailand insurgency in recent years. composed of young, salafi, militants routinely flee malaysia after carrying out violent attacks, including bombings, arson, , murders in yala, pattani, or narathiwat province. although several rkk members have been arrested or killed thai military in past decade, difficult involved in counter-insurgency penetrate structure of group owing secrecy , mobility.

on 26 july 2009 abu yasir fikri, president of pulo, , emir of group of mujahidin islam patani (gmip), me kuteh, agreed join forces. abu yasir fikri allowed speak on behalf of gmip on political issues. agreement included section in agreed form unified military force, patani liberation army (pla). pla commanded first deputy military commander of patani united liberation organisation (pulo).
on 18 april 2009, pulo outlined solution conflict @ oics twelfth meeting of intergovernmental group of experts consider conditions of muslim communities , minorities in jeddah.
