in aftermath of hurricane katrina, nba s new orleans hornets (now new orleans pelicans) temporarily relocated ford center, playing majority of home games there during 2005–06 , 2006–07 seasons. team became first nba franchise play regular-season games in state of oklahoma. team known new orleans/oklahoma city hornets while playing in oklahoma city. team returned new orleans full-time 2007–08 season. hornets played final home game in oklahoma city during exhibition season on october 9, 2007 against houston rockets.
