2008–2009 revival
in 2008, play revived @ stephen joseph theatre, again directed alan ayckbourn. had been intended several years revive play lead role performed janie dee, whom alan ayckbourn had worked on various occasions since 1992. production scheduled autumn 2006 season. however, on 21 february 2006, alan ayckbourn suffered stroke , production of woman in mind dropped. play re-scheduled autumn 2008 season, part of ayckbourn s final season artistic director.
after successful month-long run, announced play transfer west end, again @ vaudeville theatre. first play directed alan ayckbourn in west end since damsels in distress (whose treatment west end had led alan ayckbourn s threat of boycott ). janie dee reprised role, did of scarborough cast, , play produced bill kenwright had revived absurd person singular in 2007. had premiere on 6 february 2009, full run 29 january 2 may.
