there 90 individual languages spoken in ethiopia. 1994 ethiopian census indicates 77 tongues spoken locally. of these languages belong afroasiatic family (cushitic , semitic). omotic languages spoken, though classification uncertain. additionally, nilo-saharan languages spoken nation s nilotic ethnic minorities.
