in 1975, magazine adapted bi-monthly schedule, , 1976 became monthly. although no longer labeled adults , usual cover imagery suggested nothing contents had changed. during period, contributions began arrive creators such neal adams, richard corben, robert crumb, dick giordano, alejandro jodorowsky, jeff jones, gérard lauzier, jacques lob, masse, georges pichard, jacques tardi, martin veyron, wallace wood , berni wrightson.


from late 1970s, leading 1982 s suspension of publication, l Écho continued successful run, including frequent editions of l Écho special u.s.a., , side publication titled virus (five issues in 1980-1981). work bretécher, gotlib, , mandryka stopped appearing, , notable additions pool of contributors jean michel charlier, guido crepax, jean-claude forest, carlos giménez, tanino liberatore , art spiegelman.


1982-2006

purchased publisher albin michel, l Écho relaunched june 1 after five-month pause, making alterations image of magazine. among new contributors baru, eisner, milo manara, frank miller, jean-marc reiser, alex toth, jano , alex varenne. in addition adult comic strips, issues contained articles featuring photographs of semi-naked women (imagery echoed on covers).


a weekly version, named l’hebdo Écho des savanes, , later l’ebdo launched in 1984 in place of monthly magazine few months.
