cia officer leslianne shedd, posted ethiopia, died in crash. @ cia s 2012 annual memorial ceremony honor fallen colleagues, agency recalled survivors of crash telling cia leslianne...spent final moments comforting around her.


franklin huddle, u.s. consul general of bombay @ time, , wife chanya pom huddle both survived crash. huddle said chose fly on ethiopian airlines while planning safari trip kenya because of airline s reputation; 1 of few airlines in africa have federal aviation administration certification. huddle wanted flight during day, reasoning flying during day safer. credits , wife s survival last-minute upgrade business class.


other passengers perished on aircraft included lt.gen.(ret.) antal annus, hungarian ambassador kenya , french foreign ministry official.
