in 1983 there 3 houses @ northholm. these capell, patteson , rowland. capell assigned colour red, patteson white , rowland blue, these being 3 school colours. however, when in 1984 lincoln house added , given colour green, decided since tradition had been broken patteson choose more distinctive colour of yellow.


capell

capell house named after arthur capell, formally attended school opening in july 1983. rev. dr. capell world authority on oceanic languages , had taken part in collaborative effort resulted in partial transcribing of several papuan , fijian languages indigenous australian languages.


lincoln

in 1984 lincoln established fourth house @ northholm , given green house colour.


the house named after honour judge john lincoln, chairman of school council , judge of district court. deputy chancellor of macquarie university, treasurer of new south wales branch of liberal party, major of north sydney ad chancellor of diocese of newcastle.


rowland

rowland house named after former governor of new south wales, excellency air marshall sir james rowland, formally opened school in july 1983.


rowland house established in 1983 1 of original 3 houses.


patteson

patteson house named after bishop john coleridge patteson first bishop of melanesia , missionary. born in 1827 , died in 1871.
