the land

although human settlers called them spackle, name species land. being species evolved noise, entire population acts 1 entity.


1017

1017 spackle grew domesticated in haven. introduced in ask , answer. forced work violent owner, falls in love ‘one in particular’, other spackle in household. other spackle killed whilst trying protect 1017, , 1017 grows angry , vengeful, directing hate @ todd (known him knife) because todd witnesses killing , torture of spackle, , though knows happening wrong, nothing stop it.


when of burden killed, 1017 left , runs land, , named return. urges sky kill humans, , lets need revenge control him. however, sky leads him ben , learns cannot kill.


when becomes new sky, wages war on settlers, stops short because realises not doing right land. knowledge peace can bring calamity, lets humans go.


at end of monsters of men, shoots todd acid, though knew wasn’t sure if todd or mayor in front of him. offers killed viola punishment, because suffers knowing killed person, viola refuses kill him denying him forgiveness, regret action rest of life.


he shelters todd , offers viola medicine, in gesture of peace.


the sky

an appointed head of spackle, has supreme rule on spackle affairs. separate entity land, alone, , must right land, not right them. orders sky followed unconditionally. original sky killed in monsters of men, when mayor burns down forest. whilst dying, chooses 1017 new sky.


the burden

the name left become domesticated slaves humans after signing of first treaty. regarded remorse , guilt when remembered among spackles. mayor kills them provoke war spackle.


the clearing

the spackle name humans, due destructive nature.
