anerley, 1860. part of canal remained, after closure, pleasure boating.


after canal closed, sections retained leisure use, , remained in water considerable time. section @ betts park in anerley used boating lake, , area called anerley tea rooms. canal turned concrete trough in 1934, , can seen @ northern corner of betts park. section exists long curved pond in dacres wood nature reserve in dacres road, forest hill. considered redevelopment in 1989, research lewisham council resulted in identity being confirmed , forms attractive wetland, having been returned former width. there high pavement in david s road, forest hill, thought part of towpath. part of wall below path has been rebuilt murals depicting transport in forest hill.


the norwood reservoir preserved south norwood lake.
