for simplified notion of wormhole, space can visualized two-dimensional (2d) surface. in case, wormhole appear hole in surface, lead 3d tube (the inside surface of cylinder), re-emerge @ location on 2d surface hole similar entrance. actual wormhole analogous this, spatial dimensions raised one. example, instead of circular holes on 2d plane, entry , exit points visualized spheres in 3d space.


another way imagine wormholes take sheet of paper , draw 2 distant points on 1 side of paper. sheet of paper represents plane in spacetime continuum, , 2 points represent distance traveled, theoretically wormhole connect these 2 points folding plane points touching. in way easier traverse distance since 2 points touching.
