the station served 2 operators. great western railway (gwr) (who manage station) operate two-hourly service ashchurch worcester shrub hill in north (some continue through great malvern), , cheltenham spa, gloucester, bristol temple meads , westbury in south, occasional through trains either weymouth or brighton. on mondays fridays only, single morning through train between worcester , london paddington calls.


a small number of crosscountry services between cardiff central , nottingham stop here, providing direct trains birmingham (mainly in morning & evening peaks). in 2016 timetable, 1 morning birmingham service (from gloucester) continues through stansted airport via leicester , peterborough rather nottingham.


london midland s worcester gloucester (calling @ cheltenham , ashchurch) service has been discontinued since start of december 2009 railway timetable due low passenger usage – london midland still operates single service birmingham new street gloucester on friday nights.


on sundays, service limited 4 trains each way in afternoon & evening , provided entirely gwr.


in 2010 ashchurch , tewkesbury district rail promotion group began campaigning improved service station. highlighted close proximity of station junction 9 of m5 , free car-park being attractive potential commuters. cross country trains run 3 trains per hour in each direction through without stopping , appear have potential capacity in timetable stop. group point out official figures office of rail regulation show 67,000 passengers buying tickets or station in 2008–09. other stations level of patronage have @ least hourly service. need hourly service between worcester , cheltenham has been noted other passenger groups.
