krasny oktyabr founded theodor ferdinand von einem. von einem sold stake in enterprise julius heuss, became director in 1878, retaining position until death in 1907. in 1896, einem factory won gold medal @ all-russian industrial , artistic exhibition, , allowed supply confectionery court of tsar.


at turn of 20th century, einem factory won chocolatiers competitions across europe, , advertising displayed prominently in moscow. after october revolution of 1917, company nationalised , given current name. during world war ii, factory reoriented production towards manufacturing of military rations, including high-caffeine chocolate.
