beverly painted exhibit, watercolour being preferred medium. showed @ royal manchester institution, in 1820s , 1830s, , again in later life. between 1865 , 1880 exhibited 29 pictures @ royal academy, of them seascapes. last picture seen there fishing boats going before wind: morning, exhibited in 1880. work has been compared of richard parkes bonington.


william roxby beverley believed, fact living in right area of london @ right time, william beverley first discover magic knight s tour of chessboard. sent friend mathematician henry perigal in 1847, in turn sent editors of philosophical magazine published in august 1848.
