an isolated humerus, designated paratype pang , cheng, comes locality on 200 meters away type locality of huabeisaurus, in fluvially deposited sandy conglomeratic layer in lower member of huiquanpu formation. layer 90 m lower stratigraphically type horizon of huabeisaurus, comes upper member of huiquanpu formation. humerus comes stratum representing different , older depositional environment of huabeisaurus, , not overlap anatomically holotypic skeleton, , cannot referred taxon. horizon yielded humerus contains hadrosaurid specimens referred cf. shantungosaurus sp. , indeterminate ankylosaurid material.


huabeisaurus comes kangdailiang , houyu, zhaojiagou town, tianzhen county, shanxi province, china. holotype found in unnamed upper member of huiquanpu formation, late cretaceous (?cenomanian–?campanian) in age based on ostracods, charophytes, , fission-track dating.


the geology of type locality of huiquanpu formation described in series of reports. specimen found near base of upper member of huiquanpu formation, in fluvially deposited silty mudstone. locality has produced ankylosaur tianzhenosaurus, theropod material referred cf. szechuanosaurus campi (now regarded nomen dubium), , indeterminate hadrosaurid material. species coexisted ostracods , charophytes, , ankylosaurian shanxia, considered weishampel et al. ankylosauria indet.
