burndale two-storeyed sandstone house timber verandahs , corrugated iron roof. dominates gently undulating, sparsely treed landscape, rising above cluster of surrounding trees. has simple square-shaped plan, verandahs on sides, shaded curved corrugated iron awning. pyramid roof rises above awning, substantial brick chimneys north , south. verandahs have been enclosed weatherboard part of northern elevation, of western elevation, , of southern elevation.

the verandah supported chamfered square posts shaped brackets , battened valances. unenclosed sections of verandah have cast iron balustrades , valances. grape vines grow around base of house, on wires strung between verandah posts.
the upper level has glazed timber french doors leading onto verandah, lower level has timber sliding sash windows , timber doors. sandstone square-snecked coursed, , has been repointed. north-west corner of house has corrugated iron wash house incorporated base of water tank on tall timber stumps.
the garden contains many mature trees, including olive trees fruit trees, cypress pines , she-oak.
the building unusual example of two-storeyed sandstone house, , exterior intact , in condition.
