this mill stood deep in woodland west of sevenoaks. held ralph bosville of bradbourne manor in 16th century. mill in existence until @ least mid-19th century had ceased working 1900. overshot waterwheel of composite construction carried on wooden axle 9 feet 6 inches (2.90 m) long , 18 inches (460 mm) square @ waterwheel, 12 inches (300 mm) diameter in mill. mill in ruins 1920s

greatness mill, sevenoaks
an old mill site, in 1381 mill @ gretnarsche in possession of john colepeper. mills later in ownership of fane/vane family, being known gretness-mylls in 1550s, being 2 water corn mills. john thorpe (miller?) living @ greatness mill @ time of death in 1835. building of weatherboard on steel frame on brick base, replacing earlier mill burnt down after first world war. overshot waterwheel 20 feet (6.10 m) 4 feet 6 inches (1.37 m). drove 2 pairs of french burr millstones , 1 pair of peak millstones. roller milling plant had been fitted 1906. in 1927, mill still worked water power, aided 15 horsepower (11 kw) gas engine.
greatness silk mill, sevenoaks

this mill built in 1761 peter nouaille, came possession of manorial watermill on marrying elizabeth de la mare of greatness. stood downstream of corn mill. nouaille went bankrupt in 1778 recovered, employing 100 people when retired in 1800. mill had breastshot waterwheel. closed down after nouaille s death c. 1828. mills immortalised in poem ode on silk mills @ greatness joseph harrison.

this corn mill. on 24 october 1545 bradbourne mill granted henry viii william darkenolde 21 years @ £6.13s.4d per annum. king finding timber repair of mill. in 1557, ralph bosville bought mill. in 1592, henry bosville died, leaving manor of bradbourne, , water grist mill in tenure of richard phillipes , sythe mill in occupation of chapman amongst property.
