sr 74 predecessor sr 32 existed 1923 through 1962. originally, route ran cincinnati (near sr 32 s current western terminus) wayne township, adams county @ sr 137 south of seaman. 2 years later, route s eastern terminus moved east of peebles in franklin township. route became sr 32 in 1962 upon creation of i-74 west of cincinnati. of sr 74 no longer maintained state highway since sr 32 largely moved onto newly constructed divided highways part of construction of appalachian highway.
