by middle of 20th century turnpike had been rerouted again. newer technology had made possible road, part of new york state route 443, follow current straight route across ravine, on viaduct on bridge built half-century earlier, remained in place. had been main road farm quiet detour.


at time bridge surveyed historic american engineering record (haer), around 1969, cars allowed on due age. city of albany bought farm, using park, training facility , stables police horses , environmental education center. in 21st century had close bridge vehicles , traffic during winter months when small cracks detected during inspection. in 2012 city council authorized $150,000 repair them.
