2006–2011

the si redesigned 2006 model year along other civic trims, bringing significant changes previous generation. car comes 2.0-liter k20z3 i-vtec engine produces 197 hp (147 kw; 200 ps) , 139 lbf·ft (188 n·m) of torque, while including 6-speed manual transmission helical limited slip differential. forty percent stiffer spring , dampening rates non-si trims , stiffer sway bars have bolstered civic si s handling, car achieving 0.90g (8.8 m/s) of lateral acceleration on skidpad. quickest civic si off line, factory 0–60 time of 6.7 seconds according honda. new features include moonroof, seven-speaker 360-watt sound system, 17-inch alloy wheels 215/45r17 michelin all-season tires, , key-less trunk access.


in canada, acura csx type-s offered in 2007, borrowing engine , drivetrain civic si offering additional luxury options such leather seating. csx features similar front , rear fascias jdm civic, slight differences—the csx has crease running along center of hood , front bumper, whereas jdm not.


in europe si , type-s models offered, type-s in 3 door configuration type-r based on , si in 5 door, bother going without 198bhp 2.0l engine. no saloon version offered in europe.


the 2007 model changes civic si include addition of si trim sedans, vehicle stability assist (vsa) (not available on canadian models. 2010 , 2011 canadian models had vsa), darker silver wheels, body-color grille, deck lid spoiler, reversed red/black coloring on odometer, , si-embroidered front floor mats. introductory price of si coupe increased $800 msrp of $21,090.


for 2008 model year, civic si received minor tweaks include darker wheels 2007 model , new shift boot red stitching. mechanical changes included new tire pressure monitor system, new rear upper arm decreases amount of rear camber, , lowered spring rate coupe match sedan. first year canada sold civic si sedan.

honda introduced civic si sedan north america in 2007; previously, japanese market had been offered si sedans. debuted @ chicago auto show, si sedan concept featured larger 18-inch alloy wheels coupe counterpart, along 4-piston brembo brakes, , large cross drilled brake rotors. production version lacked such concept accoutrements, , si sedan mechanically identical coupe. performance of si sedan equivalent si coupe; sedan s 60-pound (27 kg) weight increase offset more balanced front/rear weight distribution (60/40 sedan versus 61/39 coupe).

the 2008 model year brought production limited-edition 2008 civic mugen si sedan, announced @ 2007 sema auto show. mugen sedan came in fiji blue pearl, , featured higher-flowing cat-back exhaust, track-tested sport suspension, exclusive mugen grille, exclusive shift knob, mugen si badges on exterior , interior, mugen forged gp wheels, , mugen body kit custom designed american trim. production limited 1000 units, , car carried msrp of $29,500. testing car , driver magazine determined acceleration of mugen si equivalent of standard civic si coupe.


2009 refresh

changes 2009 si included revised front bumper , grille, turn signals clear-lenses , amber bulbs front , rear, clear instead of red third brake light in rear spoiler, , chrome trunk trim sedan. several new colors introduced, such redline orange pearl, dyno blue, polished metal metallic, , crystal black pearl, replacing similar colors.


the 2010 civic si saw no significant changes, save black engine cover (instead of silver).
