ny 150 begins @ intersection ny 9j (main street) in village of castleton-on-hudson in front of hudson river , amtrak line through village. known scott avenue, ny 150 heads hills overlooking village, becoming main two-lane west–east village street, passing numerous residences. after winding through village, route turns northeast town of schodack, retains name scott avenue until junction county route 6 (cr 6 or maple hill road / seaman avenue). known brookview road, ny 150 turns northeastward through schodack, becoming two-lane rural street along moordener kill.

now in commercial neighborhood, ny 150 leaves west sand lake , continues north west sand lake road. crossing town of poestenkill, ny 150 reaches junction cr 68 (pershing avenue / snyders corners road) in hamlet of snyders corners. route through snyders corners residential, crossing town of north greenbush. retaining west sand lake road moniker, ny 150 winds northwest hamlet of wynantskill, bypassing hamlet of eastmor in process. through wynantskill, ny 150 continues through center of hamlet, passing numerous residences until reaching junction terminus of ny 136 (whiteview road).
