the remains of type specimen mdt-pv 1/48 discovered in laguna palacios ranch locality in lower bajo barreal formation of patagonia in chubut, argentina. specimen collected martínez in 1995 in green sandstone deposited between cenomanian stage , turonian stage of cretaceous period, between 96-91 million years ago, shown radiometric ar-ar datating. specimen housed in collection of museo regional desiderio torres - in sarmiento, chubut, argentina. remains of @ least 4 more individuals, in 2006 assigned paratypes, uncovered @ site.
