photographer vittorio sella took number of photographs of rwenzori mountains during late 19th , 20th centuries, documenting retreat of range s glaciers. sella s photographic work conserved @ museo nazionale della montagna in turin , @ istituto di fotografia alpina vittorio sella in biella, both in italy. makerere university, uganda, has selection of images.


the first traverse of 6 massifs of rwenzori mountains done in 1975, starting on 27 january , ending on 13 february. traverse done polish climbers janusz chalecki, stanisław cholewa , leszek czarnecki, mirosław kuraś accompanying them on last half of traverse.
