students take part in medway technical college annual rag day parade (1951)
traditionally fundraising activities have centred on annual rag week, events each day week. while rags active week, others use rag week flagship week encourage participation whole year.
rag mag
a rag mag small booklet traditionally filled politically incorrect humour sold local community during rag week. university rags strong local tradition still sell rag mags, majority of others use theirs more information-tools new students wanting know more rag.

street collections: known raids , volunteer collectors go out streets (often in costume) collect specific charity on given day buckets rather clipboards.
many rags organise week-long tours on university holidays in travel town town, collecting in each one, , raising thousands of pounds beneficiary charity.
megaraids: megaraid defined raid more 1 rag present , in recent years these have been organised on massive scale charities events taking place consistently on decade. charities have developed student fundraising events include barnardo s, cancer research uk, aged, hope children, kidscan, meningitis uk, meningitis research foundation, meningitis trust , worldwide cancer research. megaraids tend include social aspect , attract former students still take part.
