glomerida traditionally classified along sphaerotheriida in superorder oniscomorpha, contains short-bodied millipedes capable of volvation. oniscomorphs united poorly known glomeridesmida in infraclass pentazonia, characterized posterior telopods , relatively short bodies, , sister group helminthomorpha, or worm-like millipedes. classification supported morphological similarities. however, studies based on dna sequence comparisons have suggested glomerida more closely related glomeridesmida sphaerotheriida, hypothesis imply enrolling behavior evolved twice or lost in ancestors of glomeridesmidans.
