following initial meetup @ magfest, sda community, inspired thespeedgamers, began first charity marathon in january 2010, titled classic games done quick. both direct-feed gameplay footage , webcam footage of runners live-streamed on sda s homepage. marathon success, raising on $10,000 care. starting in 2011, sda began 2 annual marathons: awesome games done quick during winter, , summer games done quick during summer. each subsequent marathon has become substantially more successful last iteration, agdq 2011 , agdq 2012 raising $53,000 , $149,000 respectively prevent cancer foundation.


in april 2011, following great east japan earthquake, sda put marathon titled japan relief done quick. marathon executed having each runner live-stream run home, rather having travel central location. jrdq raised $25,000 doctors without borders.
