g-force name given dyson s first available vacuum cleaner. first use dual cyclone separation technology. licensed japanese company apex inc., , available on japanese market, not sold under dyson name. dyson used money earned g-force start dyson company.

dc01

the first vacuum cleaner sold under dyson name da001, launched in, may 1993. domestic upright model used patented dual cyclone technology , made in chippenham, england. after short period, renamed dc01 , production later moved malmesbury, @ company s new factory/research centre.

the dc01 had single motor provided suction , drove brushroll directly via single rubber toothless belt no form of brush control (where user can turn off brushroll use on hard floors), designed use on carpeted floors. stored hose on of housing part of handle wand, , removing handle wand enabled stretch hose used. dyson upright not use washable pre-motor filters; these had purchased , replaced every 3 months. had choice of post motor filtration – standard or hepa (high efficiency particle arrest) according model purchased. competed models hoover turbopower, , priced high in comparison other bagged cleaners. suction power of dc01 90 airwatts. dyson no longer supports model, nor produces parts it.

dc02

the dc02, launched in 1995, first cylinder (canister) model sold dyson. shape allowed sit on stairs. dc01, used dual cyclone technology. not popular during production run , sold fewer dc01. dc02 no longer supported dyson.

the dc02 available in several special editions:

the de stijl colored purple, red , yellow, in homage dutch art movement takes name. produced in limited edition of 20,000 units.
the dc02 clear produced in clear blue , green plastic, allowing user see internal components through casing.
the antarctica solo model, coloured white , pale blue, helped raise funds breakthrough cancer charity, whilst commemorating sir ranulph fiennes s solo trek across antarctica. each of limited edition run of 100,000 machines bore image of ranulph fiennes s autograph.
the recyclone first vacuum cleaner made of recycled plastic. intended test-run range-wide recyclone scheme, concept never went beyond small production run of dc02s. coloured green organic pigment.

dc03

the dc04, released around 1998, had improved filters fitted standard. pre motor filter washable , relocated top of cyclone assembly, , tools stored on top of filter housing. models featured new clutch controlled brushroll bar introduced on dc03.

the dc05, launched in 2002, second cylinder model. designed replacement dc02. motorhead version first dyson offer powernozzle , floor nozzle motorized brushroll bar improved performance on carpets.

dc06

dyson s first robotic vacuum cleaner, equipped dyson digital motor, had not proceeded beyond home-trial stage 2012, cost , weight needed reducing. had ability learn room, , distinguish between solid objects, such walls , furniture, , human beings, pets, etc. utilising sensors , specially-written navigation software. dyson dc06 got introduced in 2005.

dc07

dc07 origin dyson vacuum cleaner

the dc07, released in 2001 first implementation of root cyclone technology cleaner. in features similar dc04, included bottom drop bin, controlled trigger in top of cyclone housing, made easier emptying, , handle wand able reversed , fitted hose cuff @ handle, making easier use on dc04. many models fitted clutch controlled brushbars.

the dc07 had new 1400w motor provided 280 airwatts, making powerful model dyson made, , noisiest in use, of operating noise coming upwards mounted cyclone assembly. weighed 9 kg. in u.s. dyson dc07 sold @ target. dc07 had long production run 2001 until 2008, , came in many different colour combinations.

dc08

the dc08 new cylinder revision, released around 2002, incorporating dyson root cyclone technology found on dc07. dc08 replacement dc05. first of dyson cylinder models feature new animal derivative first seen on dc07, meant cleaner capable of dealing pet hair , dander. animal models came air driven turbine floorhead , mini turbo brush effective pet hair removal on carpets , furnishings – came equipped hepa post motor filters.

none of dc08 models had electric motorised floorheads. dc07, dc08 fitted uprated motor giving more suction power, handled new root 12 cyclone system dc08 equipped with. higher power output able drive main turbo floorhead without need electric motor , expensive wiring dc05 motorhead had.

lower models in dc08 range did not come turbine floorhead, having standard floorheads better suited hard flooring carpets. unlike dc02, dc08 did not have storage small tools in body of cleaner. dc05, tools stored on small caddy attached suction hose. dc08 had long production run; upgraded dc08 telescope wrap after launch of dc11, enable stored more efficiently, , superseded dc19.

the dc14 released in 2004. revision of dc07 upright vacuum cleaner lower centre of gravity , telescope reach . uses dyson s root 8 cyclone technology, maintains constant suction. aside different design of cyclone assembly , bin, dc14 looks similar dc07. has same motor fitted dc07 , same floorhead (with exception dc14 has large debris channel fitted front of brushroll housing). due different downwards pointing cyclone design, dc14 quieter in operation dc07 was, still had familiar motor noise used same 1400 watt motor. dc07, dc14 comes in many variants, standard dc14 (the origin, non clutched), floors (clutched), allergy (clutched), animal (clutched, + mini turbine tool) , other special editions , colourways. of january 2012 listed end of line on dyson web site.

the dc16 dyson s first handheld vacuum cleaner based on same technology used in dc14 , dc15 root cyclone upright vacuum cleaners. dc16 has 36 airwatts of constant suction. dc16 shares same styling other recent upright , cylinder vacuum cleaners in dyson range, , weighs 1.5 kg (3.3 lb).

also available in issey miyake limited edition in manifold on cyclone assembly pink instead of standard yellow, , animal version motorised brushbar picking pet hair , gold cyclone manifold. newest range dc16 car , boat designed car , boat cleaning, supplied car 12 v charger , has blue cyclone manifold. launched in 2007.

dc17

the dyson dc17 upright cleaner launched in october 2006 in us. although visually similar dc14, contains new technologies. first upgrade use of dyson s level 3 root cyclone. system incorporates 11 cyclones more efficiently filter sand , dust particles out of airstream. in system, airflow travels low speed outer cyclone 2 intermediate cyclones filter out bulk of dust , sand particles drawn system. beyond that, airflow flows through remaining 8 high speed cyclones filters remaining dust particles out of airstream. level 3 root cyclone improves upon original root cyclone system capability more efficiently separate sand particles air flow, problem earlier system.

the second change dc17 upright brushroll design. while brushrolls used on dc07, dc14 , dc15 designed european carpets in mind, dc17 s brush roll designed north america cylindrical shape, large diameter, , short stiff bristles. separate motor drives brushroll, unlike dc07 , dc14, use power main motor via clutches. made dc17 effective of dyson cleaners on carpeting.

the third change new colour scheme dc17, , dyson dc16 root 6 handheld; bright colours , silver tones toned down in favour of shiny metallic accents , titanium main colour entire machine.

the level 3 root cyclone system on dc17 quietly redesigned due gasket defect allowed dirt enter cyclones backwards, clogging them , causing cleaner lose suction; of original dc17s had problem. redesigned cyclone pack, fitted later dc17s, resolved issue. older dc17s not recalled, dyson gave out , sold many of redesigned cyclone packs.
