on april 19, 1995, alfred p. murrah federal building destroyed fertilizer bomb manufactured , detonated timothy mcveigh. blast , catastrophic collapse killed 168 people , injured on 680. blast shock-wave destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within 340-meter radius, destroyed or burned 86 cars, , shattered glass in 258 nearby buildings, causing @ least estimated $652 million worth of damage. mcveigh convicted , subsequently executed lethal injection on june 11, 2001.
