twenty-one supporters of olympiacos lost lives in gate 7 (Θύρα 7) of stadium, after game between olympiacos , aek athens fc (that ended 6–0), on 8 february 1981; incident known karaiskaki stadium disaster. in memory of event, @ tribune gate 7 now, twenty-one seats black colored instead of red, shaping number 7 . monument on eastern side of stadium bears names of twenty-one supporters killed on day in stadium.
