fb-multipier

the fb-multipier analysis program nonlinear finite element analysis program capable of analyzing multiple bridge pier structures interconnected bridge spans. full structure can subject full array aashto load types in static analysis or time varying load functions in dynamic analysis. each pier structure composed of pier columns , cap supported on pile cap , piles/shafts nonlinear soil. analysis program couples nonlinear structural finite element analysis nonlinear static soil models axial, lateral , torsional soil behavior provide robust system of analysis coupled bridge pier structures , foundation systems. fb-multipier performs generation of finite element model internally given geometric definition of structure , foundation system input graphically designer. allows engineer work directly design parameters , lessens bookkeeping necessary create , interpret model.

fb-deep

the fb-deep computer program windows-based program used estimate static axial capacity of drilled shafts , driven piles. drilled shaft methodology based upon federal highway administration reports. driven pile methodology utilizes 2 types of analyses: spt , cpt. spt methodology based on empirical correlations between cone penetrometer tests , standard penetration tests typical florida soil types. unit end bearing resistance , unit skin friction resistance versus spt n values given in fdot research bulletin rb-121, different soil types. driven pile capacity calculated using cpt data can determined 3 separate methods. first method schmertmann method proposed schmertmann in 1978 (aashto lrfd bridge design manual). second method lcpc method proposed bustamante , gianeselli french highway department in 1982. third method uf method proposed bloomquist, mcvay , hu fdot in 2007.

pile technician

pile technician developed fdot provide fast , efficient manner of entering pile data calculate payment work performed contractor.

atlas

atlas analysis/design program used analysis , design of signal lights , signs supported dual cable system. analysis consists of iterative technique combination of force density method (fdm) , direct stiffness method (dsm). fdm ideal analysis of cable structures whereas dsm used technique analysis of framed structures. nature of structures under consideration lead development of analysis technique combination of 2 methods. atlas handles wind loading in realistic manner. allows user specify wind speed areas of signal lights or signs, parallel x , y axis. in doing program calculates applied loads on corresponding nodal points internally, based on specified element areas of light elements in each plane. loads calculated in each cycle of nonlinear process. therefore, applied loads in each cycle change rotation angle of light. load more realistic since change swinging of light. angle change of light causes uplift load @ cable nodal points.
