the leyland olympian popular in united kingdom, orders operators both before , after privatisation. purchased many national bus company subsidiaries.


although london buses purchased leyland titan, in 1984 took delivery of 3 olympians. between 1987 , 1992, further 350 olympians purchased. last withdrawn in 2005, although converted open top buses , remain in use original tour. london country purchased 102.


lothian buses purchased on 200, removed 2009.


south wales transport ordered 7 of these in 1985 registered c901-c907 fcy. these remained in service first cymru until 2005.


the last remaining leyland olympians removed service in december 2016 did not comply disabled access regulations.


greece

eas of athens received 19 leyland olympians in 1983, withdrawn 1994.


hong kong

between 1981 , 1993, kowloon motor bus purchased 906 olympians, 4 having alexander bodywork. later repatriated united kingdom, including 22 converted open top configuration big bus company.


china motor bus purchased 37 olympians between 1981 , 1993. 35 three-axle olympians passed new world first bus, entire batch of ten non-air-conditioned buses being sold firstgroup repatriated them united kingdom use @ east counties, glasgow, manchester , pmt subsidiaries.


after importing few second-hand olympians united kingdom, citybus purchased 294 new olympians. in 2003, 54 repatriated united kingdom operate express services megabus.


all hong kong franchised olympians had been withdrawn october 2011. non-franchised, open-topped, air-conditioned double deckers , private hire buses withdrawn 2015 due non-compliance hong kong s emission regulations. citybus #391 last leyland olympian ever run in hong kong.


ireland

dublin bus purchased 63 olympians. total increased 175.


north america

in 1984, eastern coach works bodied left hand drive olympian sent united states demonstrator. used shuttle bus @ expo 86 in vancouver. entered service on gray line tours in victoria. later sold brampton transit.


grosvenor coach lines (gray line) of san francisco received 10 eastern coach works bodied three-axle leyland olympians in 1986 sightseeing purposes. 7 later transferred new york city , other 3 seattle. after period in store, 3 seattle units repoweed detroit diesel engines in los angeles , returned gray line duties in san francisco in 2015.


singapore

singapore bus services received 200 leyland olympian 2-axles between 15 april 1986 , 20 february 1988. these deployed toa payoh, ang mo kio , jurong depots. in 2002, these buses deployed on services 28, 70, 90, 94, 107, 136, 154, 157, 179, 182, 186, 192, 193, 199, 240, 242, 243, 246, 249, 251, 252, 254, 255, 257, 331, 333, 334, 335 , 410. jurong depot buses withdrawn beginning on 17 june 2003, , replaced other buses cascaded routes affected under north east line rationalisation (the older volvo olympian 2-axles , leyland olympian 3-axles went in jurong industrial services) , transfer of jurong island services private operators. last of these buses withdrawn on 11 february 2004.


the last 50 leyland olympian 2-axle retired on 30 may 2004, , replaced volvo b10tls january 2004. sbs7145x , sbs7152a last buses run on 29 may 2004 @ service 28. sbs6907x converted nyc molly bus in 15 july 2003 , preserved static exhibit @ youth park. sbs7196z converted playschool bus since 30 december 2003 , parked @ various places, schools, singapore expo, padang, kallang leisure park, kampong java (march 2007 - march 2008, under lime green livery) , preserved @ jubilee pat s schoolhouse static exhibit since 9 march 2008. sbs7175j , sbs7195b burnt @ ang mo kio depot in 1998.


singapore bus services took delivery of 200 further olympians in 1993/94. buses consolidated same depots after withdrawal of earliest leyland olympian 2-axles between june , december 2003. first leyland olympian 3-axle withdrawn in 26 november 2010 , final leyland olympian 3-axle withdrawn in april 2013.


sbs9168s, last leyland olympian built, repatriated england in 2013 , preserved dave rogers , re-registered l888 sbs.
