tsang attended church-operated public schools before studying @ university of hong kong 1963 1968, graduating b.a. in philosophy , modern languages , m.a. in philosophy. 1968 1970 philosophy tutor @ chinese university of hong kong. 1969 1974, continued study @ hku phd in philosophical method, ended withdrawal due gradual digression of research interests. 1975 until 2004, faculty member in general education , religious studies @ hong kong baptist university; 1978 1979, exchange professor malone college, usa; and, 1995 2000, head of department of religion , philosophy.


from 1985 1991 tsang re-enrolled phd program @ hku, time in philosophy of religion, research topic of existential wonder. place topic in historical context, supervisor f.c.t. moore introduced him kant’s critique of judgment on concept of sublime. eventually, worked out thesis on new theory of sublime in tradition of longinus, burke , kant, later published sublime: groundwork towards theory recommendation of joseph a. munitiz, master of campion hall, oxford.
