the texas tech ice hockey team established in 1999. member of american collegiate hockey association, red raiders compete big xii conference teams colleges throughout united states , canada. players recruited united states, canada, , abroad.

of clubs sports, texas tech s polo club team, coached clyde waddell, has had greatest success. in spite of having no previous experience, @ invitation of students, waddell took job in 2000. 6 years later, team beat in-state rival texas a&m win united states polo association national intercollegiate championship.

texas tech s rodeo club team competes in national intercollegiate rodeo association , won 1955 championship @ college national finals rodeo.


rugby

texas tech rugby plays in division 1-a in allied rugby conference, conference composed of schools big 12 south, against traditional rivals such texas , texas a&m. 2011–12 year, texas tech had fielded side play in division 2, won texas championship , qualified national playoffs.
