santoprene tpv dynamically vulcanized alloy consisting of cured epdm rubber particles encapsulated in polypropylene (pp) matrix.


these photographs, made using atomic force microscope (on left) , scanning electron microscope (on right), show multitude of small particles, typically no bigger couple of microns in diameter. these particles vulcanized rubber (typically epdm rubber santoprene tpv grades) in thermoplastic phase (most pp in case of santoprene tpv grades). cross-linked or vulcanized means 98% or above , because morphology “locked-in,” provides stable physical properties.
