there 4 departments in police headquarters function undertake policing activities of nepal police. these departments headed either additional inspector general of police (aigp) or deputy inspector general of police (digp). in addition departments, there national police academy , metropolitan police office being looked additional inspector general of police.

nepal police has started using polygraph system credibility assessment in criminal , internal disciplinary investigations 6 february 2014. nepal police has established central polygraph section in crime investigation department @ police headquarters.

research , planning (r&p)directorate of nepal police established in 1987 research , planning division. now, r&p directorate responsible conducting research on issues of institutional development , service delivery , making plans based on findings of research. directorate responsible conducting research , formulating plans based on research.


altogether 17 research , planning sections have been established @ departmental , regional levels under r&p directorate build quick network facilitate research , planning activities of nepal police.
